Union Standard Equipment Company's New York
Headquarters
Since 1912 Union has maintained a New York
facility beginning with the original site in lower Manhattan. Two more buildings
were added and in the early 1960's and all three plants were consolidated into
the present building that was purchased from A & P. Formerly a major baking
facility, Union transformed the 230,000 square foot plant into the largest
warehouse and rebuilding facility of food/non-food processing and packaging
equipment in the world!
The Bronx plant is an eight-story brick building
conveniently located near LaGuardia, Kennedy and Newark airport and is minutes
away from all major highways.
Each floor is dedicated to a specific use. The
first floor houses our executive, general administrative and sales offices,
along with accounting, advertising and reception. The industrial portion of the
first floor contains our shipping, receiving, crating, staging and over-sized
machinery storage. The basement floor along with the fourth through seventh
floors contains equipment inventory totaling more than 10,000 machines for over
fifty allied industries. Each floor is broken down by equipment type and
industry use.
The third floor is the heart of the rebuilding
facility with more than 30,000 square feet dedicated to total equipment
restoration. A full staff of mechanics, electricians, machinists, welders and
other craftspeople occupy this space. Many of these valued employees have
provided the firm with over twenty years of experience. Equipment is completely
disassembled, parts inspected and replaced and repaired as needed. All levels of
work are performed according to customer's requirements. PLC upgrades, custom
size parts and line integration are our specialty.
The second floor is also used to rebuild
equipment and houses our National Equipment parts department and engineering
offices.
